I cannot speak for everyone but I can say that for me, the new server is much faster and much more responsive among other things. It went rather well all in all and i for one am happy with the result. Thank you Mika.

Merry Christmas Apache 2.0.63 Users E-mail

Tis the season for giving, and since I understand the pain of upgrading to Apache 2.2.x and loosing modules I became reliant on, I thought I'd get off my back side and release the latest mod_security, OpenSSL 0.9.8l and mod_antiloris for Apache 2.0.x/2.0.63

As stated on the download page, security updates and modules for legacy versions are on a as-I-get-around-to-it-and-feel-like-it basis. I felt compelled to get the mod_antiloris and the OpenSSL update online. Since I had to build Apache 2.0.63 to create them, I figured I may as well get the current version of mod_security up as well.

For the OpenSSL update, make sure you read the included changes files for OpenSSL and mod_ssl. Due to the OpenSSL change, this could make certain websites no longer work properly. As with anything, test thoroughly before putting them into your production environment.

Update packages for Apache 2.2.14 to OpenSSL 0.9.8L are available at the Download Page. These packages include all files needed to upgrade your Apache 2.2.14 server. This version of OpenSSL is released with re-negotiation disabled by default to rectify the newly discovered TLS/SSLv3 Man In The Middle attack that has been found in OpenSSL (still theoretical as far as I know).

See the Change Log for the full details from the OpenSSL developers point of view.

This is not really a fix at all since all it does is disable re-negotiation and nothing more. THIS COULD BREAK APPLICATION YOU RUN UNDER SSL
